Attic Insulation

A well-insulated attic space can save money on your monthly electrical bill.

Most homes are constructed with 6” of (R19) insulation to meet industry insulation standards. TVA recommends a minimum of 12” which is considered (R38). Over time attic insulation can settle and actually reduce your original R-value as much as 10% over a 10 year time period. Increasing your insulation R-value will improve the overall performance of your home's heating and cooling system, as well as reduce run time on your central heating and cooling unit, which results in lower energy consumption and helps reduce your utility bill.
